Our main sale for the year is conducted each year at the Roma Saleyards through Watkins and Co, where we present a line of Angus weaners.

We have been fortunate in recent years to have some blistering sales with fierce buyer competition from throughout Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. We made a decision around three years ago to yard wean, and we invest significant time and resources into preparing our cattle to ensure they are ready to perform in all situations.

The past few years have seen an increase in the cents per kilogram we are attaining for our weaner females and a shift in who is buying them. They are starting to outperform the steer component in terms of cents per kilo and they are no longer being purchased to enter the feedlot system but by producers wanting them for their own breeding operation. We believe this is a massive tick of approval for what we are doing with our own cow herd and breeding program and is a reward for our investment in genetics.

Our next weaner sale (Female Sale) is on Tuesday 5th September 2023 at the Roma Saleyards.
